Scale Corvairs
I have been making 3D printed scale Corvairs for well over 10 years. It started as a means to get my kids interested in the Corvairs, but has grown into an obsession all its own.
For some of these models I generated the digital geometry entirely from scratch, and in others I am manipulating, grafting together or completely reworking 3D files I have purchased. In both situations it takes months of work to get to a final design ready to print. After the modeling it can then take weeks to print and detail one model. Details matter, and thankfully I own at least one each of an early, late, and FC Corvair to confirm my accuracy and proportions against the real thing.
I use a combination of software applications including 3D Studio Max and Autodesk Fusion to generate the digital forms. The models are then created with a range of FDM and resin based printers along with traditional model making tools and materials.
These Corvair models are not for sale.
